AU Ananta pays 5 reward points per Rs 100 on shopping, dining and travel, which works out to about 1.25% at 25 paise a point. Everything else earns 2 points per Rs 100, and insurance, utility and telecom bills earn 1. A milestone ladder adds up to 50,000 bonus points once you cross Rs 10 lakh in a card year.
It costs Rs 2,000 to join and Rs 2,000 a year, and the renewal fee is waived once you spend ₹3 lakh in the year. The first milestone of 5,000 points at Rs 2.5 lakh is worth about Rs 1,250 on its own, so a steady spender gets most of the fee back quickly.
It suits someone who spends a good chunk online, on food and on trips. The catch is the shared cap of 5,000 points per statement on the 5X categories, and lounge visits only count if you book a flight through AU Rewardz that quarter.
Best for: Salaried users earning Rs 25,000 a month or more, Heavy online shoppers and diners, People who spend Rs 3 lakh or more a year on one card, Occasional domestic flyers who book through the bank portal.
