How we make money
Short version: when you apply through one of our links, the provider pays us a referral fee. You pay nothing extra.
- ₹0Extra cost to you
- 0Paid placements
- 0Data sold
What being paid does, and does not, change
A comparison site that will not say how it is paid is asking you to trust an ordering you cannot check. So here is the whole arrangement.
You never pay more
The fee comes from the bank or lender, out of their own acquisition budget. The rate, the joining fee and the terms you get are the same as walking in the front door.
Nobody buys a better position
Listings are ordered by how many people clicked through, by whether we have marked something featured editorially, by date, or alphabetically, whichever you pick. Paying us more does not move a product up.
We do not sell your data
Not to lenders, not to brokers, not to anyone. If you apply, you apply on the provider's own site and we never see the application.
Every product we list has a referral arrangement
We only list products we have a referral arrangement with, and every Apply link says so. It never changes the rate, the fees or the terms you get.
What happens when you tap Apply
Three steps, and we are only involved in the first one.
- 01
You tap Apply
The link is marked sponsored, and you pass through a page that says so in plain words before you reach the provider.
- 02
You finish on the provider's own site
The application, the documents and the decision are all theirs. We never see what you submit, and we cannot influence the outcome.
- 03
If you are approved, they pay us
A referral fee, from their acquisition budget. If you are declined, or you change your mind, we are paid nothing, and you are charged nothing either way.
What we will never do
These are not aspirations. They are the rules the site is built to, and the reason some obvious ways to make more money are closed to us.
Sell a higher position
No provider can pay to appear above another. The sort order is yours to choose.
Sell your data
Your details are never passed to a lender, a broker or a marketing list.
Invent urgency
No countdowns, no 'only 3 left', no manufactured deadline on a financial decision.
Hide the arrangement
Every outbound application link is marked sponsored, on every page, without exception.
The rates themselves
The one thing on this page we will not tell you, and exactly why.
We will not tell you what any particular provider pays us. Those terms are negotiated one at a time and they are commercially confidential. Publishing them would put every provider in the room with every other one.
What we will always tell you is that a link earns us something. Every outbound application link on this site is marked as sponsored, and the page you pass through on the way out says so in plain words.
It is a fair thing to be sceptical about, which is why the rest of this page is specific about what the money can and cannot buy. If any of it turns out not to match what you see on the site, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
Questions About the Money
The things people ask when they realise a comparison site is paid by the companies it compares.
Does applying through SkyloFin cost me anything?
No. The fee is paid by the bank or lender out of their own acquisition budget. The interest rate, the joining fee and every other term are identical to applying directly.
Do you earn more from some products than others?
Yes, the terms differ per provider, and they are commercially confidential. What does not differ is the ordering: what we earn is not an input to how products are ranked or which ones we list.
Why will you not publish the actual rates?
They are negotiated one provider at a time. Publishing them would set an anchor for every future negotiation and let one provider work out another's terms. We disclose that a link earns us something on every link; we do not disclose who pays what.
What happens if I am declined?
We are paid nothing. A referral fee is only earned on an approved application, so a decline costs you nothing and earns us nothing.
Do you list products that pay you nothing?
No. We only list products we have a referral arrangement with, and every Apply link says so. The rate, the fees and the terms are the provider's own, the same as applying directly.
If you think we have got something wrong
A fee that has changed, an eligibility rule that is out of date, a product that should not be listed: tell us and we will fix it. A wrong number on a finance page is a problem for the reader first and for us second.
