SIP Calculator

What will my SIP grow to?

A SIP invests a fixed amount every month, which buys more units when prices are low and fewer when they are high. Enter what you can invest monthly and the return you expect.

How It's Calculated

FV = P × ((1 + i)ⁿ − 1) ÷ i × (1 + i)

P is the monthly amount, i the monthly return (the yearly return ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n the number of months. The final (1 + i) is there because each instalment is invested at the start of the month, so it earns one extra month of growth.

Returns on equity funds are not guaranteed. The result shows what the rate you enter would produce, not a forecast.

Common Questions

Is a 12% return guaranteed?

No. Nothing about a market-linked return is guaranteed. 12% is a common long-run assumption for Indian equity funds, but actual returns vary year to year and can be negative. This is a projection, not a promise.

Why is the maturity value higher than my instalments add up to?

Because each instalment keeps earning after it is invested. The earliest instalments compound the longest, which is why starting sooner matters more than investing more.

What happens if I miss a SIP instalment?

That month is simply not invested; what you already hold stays invested. Your bank may charge a fee for the failed auto-debit, and a SIP can be cancelled after several missed instalments in a row.
