Editorial policy
Where every number on SkyloFin comes from, who writes the guides, and how we correct mistakes.
Four rules every page is held to
Facts come from the source
Fees, rates, rewards and eligibility come from the bank's or lender's own pages. Credit card facts are cross-checked against CardAdvisor's open India Credit Card Facts dataset.
Every product page is dated
Each product shows when its facts were last verified, and credit cards list their recent changes at the bank, so you can see how current a number is.
Money does not buy a position
We earn a referral fee on some applications, and we say so on every Apply link. What a provider pays is never an input to how products are listed or sorted.
Numbers you can check
Calculators use the standard formulas banks use and run in your browser. Guides show their working, so you can redo any figure yourself.
Where the numbers come from
Different products, different sources. The bank or provider always has the final word, so confirm on their site before you apply.
Credit cards
The issuer's product page and fee schedule, cross-checked against CardAdvisor's open dataset (CC BY 4.0), which we sync twice a day. A change at the bank shows on the card's page under Recent Changes, with its date.
Loans, savings and demat accounts
Taken from the provider's own product page when the product is added, and checked again whenever the provider, a reader or our own review tells us it has changed. Interest rates are shown as the provider states them: the rate you get depends on your profile.
Shopping offers
Coupons and deals come from the brands through affiliate networks and are refreshed automatically several times a day. A code can still expire or run out before the feed catches up, so check it at checkout.
Calculators
EMI, compound interest, SIP and amortisation use the same standard formulas lenders and fund houses use. What a calculator cannot know is your lender's rounding, fees or the rate you personally qualify for.
How a guide gets written
SkyloFin is a product of Skylo Digital, founded by Akash Wagh. Guides are written and checked by the SkyloFin team in four steps.
- 01
Research
A guide starts from a question readers actually ask, and from the primary source: the bank's terms, an RBI circular, the fee schedule. Secondary sources are named where they are used.
- 02
Draft
Guides are written by the SkyloFin team, which uses AI writing tools to draft and edit. The monthly card-changes posts start from the dated change records on each card.
- 03
Check and publish
Before a post goes live, a person checks every fee, rate and date against its source and reads it for plain meaning. Nothing is published automatically.
- 04
Keep it current
When a bank changes a card or a rule changes, the affected guides are updated and their date moves with them. Old posts are corrected, not quietly left wrong.
What you will not find here
How the site is paid is set out in full on How we make money. These are the limits that follow from it.
Personal advice
We explain how products work and what they cost. We are not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, and nothing here is advice for your circumstances.
Invented numbers
No made-up savings, no rounded-up counts, no 'up to' figure without the condition beside it.
Fake urgency
No countdowns, no 'only 3 left', no deadline we did not get from the provider.
Paid reviews
No provider can pay for a review, a rating, a better position or a kinder sentence.
Corrections
Found a fee that has changed or a figure that looks wrong? Email support@skylofin.com with the page. A person checks it against the source and, if we were wrong, fixes the page and its verified date. Also see our disclaimer.
