Change a Transaction’s Type

Mark a payment as income, expense, self transfer or investment, so your spending totals are right.

Every transaction has a type. It decides whether it counts in your Income and Spent totals. Money moved between your own accounts, or into an investment, should not count as spending.

Open the Edit options

Open the transaction, tap the menu at the top right and choose Edit.

Change Type with Income, Expense, Self Transfer and Investment
  • Income: money you received. Counts in Income.
  • Expense: money you spent. Counts in Spent.
  • Self Transfer: between your own accounts. Counts in neither.
  • Investment: money put into a SIP, stocks or a deposit. Not counted as spending.

Tip: Rename fixes an odd merchant name, and future payments from the same sender use the new name too.
