What Is CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate)?

The steady yearly growth rate that turns a starting value into an end value.

Investing

CAGR = (end value ÷ start value)^(1 ÷ years) − 1. It lets you compare investments held for different lengths of time.

It fits a single investment. For money added over time, such as a SIP, use XIRR.

Example

₹1 lakh growing to ₹2 lakh in 5 years is a CAGR of 14.87%.
