Credit utilisation is your card balances divided by your total card limits. Lenders read a high ratio as a sign you depend on credit, so it can lower your credit score even if you pay on time.
Keeping it under about 30% is common advice. Paying the bill before the statement date, or holding a higher limit you do not use, both bring it down.
Example
₹45,000 spent on cards with a total limit of ₹1,50,000 is 30% utilisation.
